✨ Big Disney Announcements from Destination D23!

Weekly Newsletter

Hey Reader!

Disney just dropped a ton of exciting updates at Destination D23 2025, and I couldn’t wait to share them with you! Here’s what’s coming soon to the parks, cruise line, and beyond:

🎢 TRON: Ares Ride Overlay
TRON: Lightcycle Run is getting a limited-time upgrade! The ride will feature red and orange light trails, a thrilling new vibe inspired by TRON: Ares, and new sounds from Nine Inch Nails.

🎥 New Disneyland Documentary
Leslie Iwerks (creator of The Imagineering Story) announced Disneyland Handcrafted, a brand-new documentary coming this winter to Disney+ and YouTube. It celebrates the artistry and detail that make Disneyland so special.

Walt Disney Joins Carousel of Progress
Soon, you’ll see a brand-new Audio-Animatronic of Walt Disney in Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom — such a sweet nod to Walt’s legacy.

🍷 Dining & Drinks Refresh

  • Napa Rose at Disneyland Hotel is reopening with a refreshed California-inspired menu and Craftsman-style design.
  • New themed lounges are coming to the Disney Destiny cruise ship — including The Sanctum, Haunted Mansion Parlor, and Cask & Cannon.
  • And yes, eight new novelty popcorn buckets and sippers are on the way! A picture of my favourite one is below!

🏰 Cinderella Castle Makeover
Magic Kingdom’s iconic castle is getting a new color palette with grays, creams, blues, and shimmering gold, inspired by its original look. Are you a bigger fan of the current colours or the original?

🦹‍♀️ Villains-Themed Land Updates
Imagineers shared new details about the upcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, calling its style “Conjured Architecture” — a magical, Art Nouveau-inspired design. I'm really excited to see this land come to life!

Which of these updates are you most excited about? Personally, I can’t wait to see Walt in Carousel of Progress!

👶 A Quick Personal Update: Baby girl is here! She arrived in early August, so we've been in the newborn trenches over here adjusting to being a family of 4!

That wraps up this newsletter! Have a magical week!

That means you could start at Magic Kingdom in the morning, grab lunch in EPCOT, and end your evening with fireworks in Hollywood Studios. Sounds magical… but it also adds cost (and logistics). So how do you decide whether it’s worth it? Here’s how...

Whether it’s avoiding dairy, managing celiac, or needing pureed food due to a disability, we’ve had to ask a lot of questions to make meals safe on our trips. So today I’m sharing what I’ve learned about how to plan a Disney trip when you have...
