How to Plan a Disney Trip When You Have Food Allergies

Weekly Newsletter

Hey Reader!

Planning a Disney trip comes with a lot of decisions — where to stay, when to go, what to ride first. But if you or someone in your family has food allergies, there’s a whole extra layer to think through.

I’ve been there. Whether it’s avoiding dairy, managing celiac, or needing pureed food due to a disability, we’ve had to ask a lot of questions to make meals safe on our trips. So today I’m sharing what I’ve learned about how to plan a Disney trip when you have food allergies — and how to still eat well, without all the stress.

🍽️ Why Disney Is One of the Better Options for Allergies

The good news? Disney takes food allergies seriously. From special dietary request forms to chefs speaking directly with you, there’s a lot in place to help you eat with confidence.

But the key is: you have to know how to ask. And plan ahead.

🛎️ What I Recommend

Here’s what I’d do (and do do!) to plan meals that are safe and delicious:

✔️ Add allergy info when you make dining reservations
✔️ Email Disney’s Special Diets team at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com about 2 weeks before your trip
✔️ Ask to speak with a chef at every table service restaurant
✔️ Stick to mobile order at quick service — they usually have allergy-friendly menus built in
✔️ Pack a few safe snacks just in case
