What I’d Do Differently on Our Next Disney Trip ✨

Weekly Newsletter

Hey Reader!

I wanted to share a little reflection from our last Disney trip ( I can't believe we were there this time last year!)—because sometimes the best planning tips come from what didn’t work quite as expected.

As you know, traveling with a toddler means you’re always balancing that precious “happy window” of time before the meltdown clock runs out. 😅 One thing I’d definitely do differently next time? Make fewer dining reservations.

On paper, it sounded great: a couple of sit-down meals where we could rest and recharge. In reality? Those reservations ate into the little window of time our son was happy in the parks. By the time we got through the meal, we’d lost precious exploring time.

Looking back, I would have loved to use that chunk of time to wander through Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. It’s interactive, beautiful, and toddler-friendly—exactly the kind of unstructured experience that fits this stage of life better than a long sit-down meal. And on our Epcot day we had a lunch reservation at Via Napoli as soon as they opened- but it took forever. It's a great restaurant, but that day it just wasn't the right decision. Having a quick service meal at
Pizza al Taglio (the pizza window) probably would have been better.

So here’s my takeaway:
✨ If you’re traveling with little ones, consider just one table-service meal per day (or even every other day), and keep the rest flexible. Quick-service meals or snacks on the go can give you more time to enjoy those unique experiences that only Disney can deliver.

What about you? Have you ever come home from a Disney trip thinking, Next time, I’d…? Hit reply—I’d love to hear your lessons learned, too!
